Biography: Karyn Stinson
Hi, I'm Karyn Stinson. As long as I can remember, I've loved horses. I'm fascinated by the many different horse breeds and events that have developed over time. They're all magnificent and they all have so much to offer us humans.
I owned and operated Rainbow Arabians, a breeding and training ranch for 22 years. During that time, I began racing endurance horses and became a Top Ten rider for several years. I was lucky to grow up with the world famous Tevis Cup in my backyard and one of my proudest achievements was finishing that grueling 100 mile race on my horse Farouk and earning a Tevis buckle. I also enjoyed showing and winning at some of the top Arabian shows across the country.
I also fell in love with the gentle giants of the horse world, the Shires. In 1999, I fitted, trained and showed the Grand Champion Stallion in the western regional finals. What a thrill it is to feel the earth move as I show these big guys in halter, riding and driving classes!
I'm currently honing my skills in western riding and competing with Quarter horses in team penning and ranch sorting competitions. I already have a couple of buckles to show for my efforts. These ranch riding classes are growing by leaps and bounds and are a great way to spend a Saturday or Sunday.
I'm also a judge and I've managed horse shows. So the bottom line is, I speak your language when it comes to horse shows and showing horses. I know what it's like to make sure the awards arrive on time. I know what it feels like to see a contestant's face light up when they receive a fabulous, creative award. And I also know what it feels like to hand someone a ho-hum award. There's a difference.
I look forward to getting in touch with all of you out there in the horse show world. I want to hear what you need to promote your breeds and sports. And I want to show you some innovative new items that we at Showtime Awards know you'll love.
